Adam Polgar

Software Architect

Arriving stateside just around the turn of the millennium after several years spent becoming a chocolate connoisseur in the Swiss capital, Adam originally hails from the edge of the Great Hungarian Plains. After studying English at Northeastern University in Boston, he heard the siren call of a different kind of language and pivoted to web development just to keep people on their toes. Starting as a developer at the Brigham’s Center for Neurologic Imaging in 2004, he joined the Partners MS Center team in 2008. As a software architect focused primarily on front-end development, he has spent the past decade-and-change building a variety of software tools touching the Center’s daily work – from barcode scanners in the lab; to data entry forms in the clinic; to widgets whirring away in server rooms. He is proud and excited to help translate the Center’s interest in emerging technologies into meaningful changes for both staff and patient experiences. In a historic first, our team was the first to use iPads for data collection at an institution of 75,000 people! A one-time bassoon player and friend to all dogs, Adam is a fierce guardian of his family’s secret goulash recipe, and often gives historical walking tours of Boston guaranteed to wear out your shoes.
