Ecehan completed her medical training and received her PhD in neuroscience at Hacettepe University in Ankara. Her previous research explored various aspects of major depressive disorder, with a particular focus on brain energy metabolism, neuroinflammation, and clinical interventions for MDD. She is joining the Chitnis Lab to further explore her interest in the role of immunology in neurological and psychiatric diseases. Outside of the lab, she enjoys eating her way around Boston with friends, discovering new music, and playing the piano.
